GAME RULES

Overview

Race IQ is a simulated fantasy sports game that allows players to interact with their favorite sports at any time of day, with skin in the game.

Creating an Entry & Game Strategy

Race IQ is nearly identical in gameplay to our Picks games. To make an entry, start by choosing a sport, and then pick a season.

Next, you will choose two better or worse picks based on driver finish position. When choosing your 2nd pick, you will see payout multiples displayed. This shows you how much your payout will be if you win your entry. Lower multiple payouts are more likely to win. If both of your picks are correct after your simulation is run, you win!

The core strategy of the game centers on having a solid memory of how each driver performed in a given season. Since you don't know the specific event your picks will compete in prior to making them, the skill required to win is based on your analysis of a driver's overall likelihood to finish better or worse than their line in any race of your selected season.

Race Event Selection & Integrity

After you submit your entry, the game will determine which race your picks will run in.

To ensure fairness and competitive integrity, each entry's race event is determined using a strictly unbiased randomization process. After users submit a lineup and spins the wheel to determine their event, the system selects a race at random from the designated season pool. This selection is performed using native randomization methods that uniformly sample one race from the full eligible set, without weighting or manual intervention. Neither users nor administrators have visibility into, or influence over, which race is chosen. This mechanism guarantees that every eligible race has an equal probability of being selected, ensuring a transparent and non-manipulable game environment.

The set of available races is determined in part by the lineup entered. Only races where all drivers selected competed and were not disqualified are available for selection via the randomization process. In some cases, GridRival might exclude races from the eligible pool if those events negatively impact the user experience. For example, during the 2021 Formula 1 Race in Belgium, the race lasted only three laps due to extreme wet conditions, and those three laps were behind a safety car. The results of this event don’t clearly reflect the average skill of all drivers. For a complete list of excluded races, please get in touch with support.

Race Simulation

After your event has been selected, you will be taken to the simulation leaderboard, where you can watch a real-time replay of the event lap by lap. Your picks will be highlighted in green if they are projected to be winners. The typical race replay takes about 10-15 seconds and can be skipped at any time by tapping the "skip" button.

Settlement

Unlike other games on GridRival, in which final settlement requires waiting on official scoring for live events, RaceIQ picks settle instantly. When you win on RaceIQ, your winnings are available immediately.
